What Is A Fender FSR / Fender Special Run? A fender special run or”FSR” are Fender products that are specially commissioned by individual dealers and built to their specifications. As they aren’t regular production models, FSR instruments and amps aren’t generally available to every dealer, and Fender seldom provides specs or listings for them on its website. Your local dealer, however, should be able to provide detailed specs for any FSR products they offer.
Sometimes “FSR” Fender Special Run’s are just as simple as a regularly available Fender guitar or amp in a special color and sometimes they are completely different configurations.
All the Fender FSR’s I’ve seen are reasonably priced and considering they are also mostly rarer models they may have a higher resale value in the future.

I currently own 3 Fender Special Run FSR guitars including a Squier. I wouldn’t go into all the specs but here’s a brief description.
Fender 72 Tele Custom. A unique take on the ’72 Telecaster Custom, this Fender Special Run version combines two P90 style DE-9000 Black Dove single coil pickups with cream covers and a bound body to create a stunning guitar. Features include an alder body, maple neck with a three-bolt plate and Micro-Tilt adjustment, rosewood fingerboard and vintage-style bridge and tuners. I got mine used and some changed the neck pickup.
Fender 60th Anniversary Telecaster Deluxe Olympic White. I got this used and the previous owner added a Bigsby and a Muy Grande ’72 Wider Range Humbucking Bride pickup.
Squier FSR Bullet Mustang HH Electric Guitar Olympic White
FSR Models change rather frequently so it’s always worth keeping an eye out to see if something special pops up.
