The FZONE BM-800 Condenser Microphone with Shock Mount + Foam Cap + Power Cable is a low budget inexpensive microphone, reviewed here with the FZONE Microphone Pop Filter for Condenser Microphone Mic Wind Screen Mask Shield Mount Gooseneck. (pop filter sold separately)
Who Is This Mic For?
The FZONE Mic is for anyone who wants a decent mic at an inexpensive price. I’ve seen the price bounce around from around $30 to $13.99. It was $13.99 at the time of writing this post with the pop filter around six bucks. Prices seem to jump around. I paid $32 when I got it.
This mic is good for podcasting, recording instruments amps and vocal tracks alike.
Note: The FZONE BM-800 Condenser Microphone requires phantom power, most audio interfaces have phantom power, you will need a phantom power box if your interfaces doesn’t.
What Is A Pop Filter?
A pop filter is a thin fabric or other material that is placed in front of a mic to reduce plosive sounds like the p sound. See video for demo.
Do I Need The Pop Filter?
If you plan on doing any vocal record such as voice over or singing then yes, you will need the pop filter. See example in video below
FZONE BM-800 Condenser Microphone and Pop Filter Video Review
In the video Demo, I record an Ibanez AVC6 Artwood Vintage Distressed Grand Concert Acoustic Guitar directly into Logic Pro X through a Focusrite Pro 40 Fire Wire audio interface. No other effects or processing was done to the recording. I wanted to give a true accurate sound of what the mic was capturing. I also record a Fzone soprano ukulele and a Donner U-Bass. The pop filter test stats at 4:21 in the video. Just speaking vocals, no singing demo with the pop filter but you get the basic idea.
Recording An Amplifier
I used this mic for the Donner Guitar Amp 10 Watt Amplifier DEA 1 Review as well. You can watch the whole video from the beginning but the clip below starts at 3:24 so you can hear what the FZONE BM-800 Condenser Microphone sounds like recording an amp.
The professional condenser microphone adopts the exacting complete electronic circuit control. Capture rich, full-bodied sound from sources that are directly in front of the mic. The shock mount can effectively reduce handling noise. The ball-type anti-wind foam cap can protect microphone against wind interference and singers’ spit.
The Fzone BM-800 Condenser Microphone comes with the following items:
1x Black Professional Condenser Microphone
1x Microphone Shock Mount
1x Ball-type Anti-wind Foam Cap

Pop Filter Sold Separately ( Recommend For Voice Recording)
An essential item for recording, speaking or singing. It will help to ensure that your tracks are audible and easy to understand.
I highly recommend the pop filer add-on as well.
Overall The FZONE BM-800 Condenser Microphone is a great bargain and a great place to start if you’re looking for a quilty mic at a very inexpensive price. I recommend adding the Pop Filter, both products can be ordered from the same product page.
